Tamur Rafting


Rafting in Nepal If you are thinking of doing a short trek and want to enjoy rafting as well, then Tamur River is one of the best options. Four days trek begins from the remotest part of eastern Nepal offering you beautiful views of Mt. Makalu, Kanchanjanga and Rhododendron forest. This trek covers many villages where you will have ample opportunities to know local people and their way of life. After the trek, the real adventure begins. Your rafting trip in Tamur covers about 140KM (about 90Miles). Rapids of (4-5 class) are abundant throughout this trip. Some of these rapids may make your hair raise and send waves throughout your body.


Trip Itinerary


Day 01: Drive –Dharan - Basantapur
Day 02: Arrive Basantapur and prepare for trekking and camp.
Day 03: Trek about 5 hours when we get to Mangalbare. We spend overnight at this place.
Day 04: Another five hours trek. When we reach Guphapokahari.
Day 05: Trek about five and half hours and camp at Goria.
Day 06: Trek to Dobhan about 3 hours and camp.
Day 07: Rafting starts at Tamor river. Run class 4/5 rapids and camp at Kabelidobhan.
Day 08: Rafting whitewater section and camp nearby Koya River bank.
Day 09: Raft down calm section and camp at Dumre.
Day 10: Rafting the continuos whitewater rapids of Tamor river and camp near Tribenighat
Day 11: Rafting about 3 hours and finish at Chatara. Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 12: Arrive at Kathmandu and transportation to other parts of the country can be arranged upon request.
